Annie Tucker

Tucker, Annie Mavis Goggans "Bill" age 96, a lifelong resident of the Bagley community, passed away at home on Saturday June 16, 2012. She was born June 8, 1916 She was preceded in death by her husband Ocie Tucker; her parents, Ava Ward Goggans and John Dixon Goggans; sons in law, Terry Joe Suchey and Phillip Auerbach and grandson, Michael Stern Auerbach. "Grannie", "GiGi", was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her daughters, Johnie Suchey and Jackie Auerbach; grandchildren, Terra Rice (Marc), Patrick Suchey (Pat), Melissa Rubin (Adam), and David Auerbach; great-grandchildren, Marcus Rice (Julie), Jonathan Suchey, John Cohen Suchey, Aubrey Rubin, Cohnor Rubin, Brennan Rubin and Caci and Emma Easley. Mrs. Tucker's father was a pioneer of the Bagley community. "Bill", as she was known by her many friends, was given her knick name as a child from the evangelist "Billy" Sunday by her father. She graduated from Corner High School in 1932 at the age of 16. Mrs. Tucker was a "giver" and "doer" as exhibited by her many years participating in the Bagley Extension Homemakers Club, as a 4-H club leader, her involvement in PTA and a member of the Eastern Star. She served as a Director of the Jefferson County Farmer's Federation. She was a board member of the McCormack Cemetery Fund and a charter member of New Beginnings Community Church. Her passion was sewing, knitting, and crocheting for family and friends. She was an avid reader and would open her home during summers for the community library. Visitation will be held on Monday June 18, 2012 from 1:30-3:30 p.m., at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Steve Knox and Rev. Tim Bozeman will officiate. Burial will follow in McCormack Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all of the friends who have been supportive of Mrs. Tucker. A special thank you is extended to special caregivers Jilda Morgan Cobb, Wanda Greathouse McCoy and Affinity Home Hospice Services.
