Isabelle Jefferson Tombrello

Isabella Jefferson Tombrello, age 88 of McCalla, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 9, 2014. The earlier part of her life she had been a Red Cross volunteer; and worked for the local Board of Education. Later, she co-founded Tombrello Contracting, and was on the Board of Directors for banks and shipping companies. She was a member of the BPW; the Order of the Easter Star and the Alabama Square and Round Dance Association. Her most enjoyed hobbies were Ballroom and Square dancing. Funeral services will be Thursday September 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Don Stanton will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Adamsville. Visitation is Thursday from 12-2 pm at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank B. Tombrello; son, Billy Tombrello; daughter, Jan Tombrello Morgan; grandson, Nicholas Wheeler; and brothers, Cecil, Bob, Bill and Neil Jefferson. Survivors include her son, Dr. Jeff Tombrello of McCalla; daughters, Terry Boyd (Ronnie) of Adamsville and Donna Franklyn (Simon) of Van Nuys, CA; grandchildren, Armando Diaz of Birmingham, Lisa Hyde (Eddie), Michael Boyd (Amanda) and Anna Owens (Preston), all of Adamsville; great grandchildren, Candice Jenkins (Eric), Alex Diaz and Brady Boyd; great-great grandchildren, Isaiah and Hannah Jenkins; brother and sisters in law, Don Jefferson (Kathy), Horace Jefferson (Laura), Pat Jefferson and Carolyn Jefferson; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. On a mothers passing: At this moment in the eternal world there is a lovely young woman running through a field of flowers. She sees her mother and father who she missed, she sees the friends that were lost to her for so many years. She knows pure love and feels the warmth of God on her tender young face. Yesterday she was an old woman with only pain to come in her future. Would you call her back from her escape? Would you ask her to leave the true life she has now so that you will not cry for her? There is the promise that all who believe in God share. That promise is that we all have a home together forever, and that eventually we will all get there and recognize each other even through our new perfection. Hold on to that dream now, and it will come true for all of us. But now, after our sorrow, after our crying, we have still not finished our job in this life. Our job is to love each other and enjoy this hard and wonderful gift of earthly life that is our doorway to eternity. Let us hold together our hearts and be brave for each other, Let us understand that in death there is no loss, only delay that is of no consequence in the eternal world of forever. The old woman is gone, and somewhere a young woman has been born before God, and the mystery is that when we see the young woman we will also see the old woman, for they are both the same soul. To her we say “Congratulations you won the race, and the rich reward you now receive for a life will lived. You gave us life, you took care of us in hard times, you showed us how to be strong and endure…and now, here is your reward”. “Congratulations our dear mother, you have won, you are our hero, our strength, our angel. We will see you soon enough, but for now we will live well as you would want. We will enjoy the time we have left here knowing that from time to time you will visit when the air is warm with the smell of flowers, or when the rain hits our windows with a song”.
