Dorothy Mae Clements

Dorothy Mae Clements, 85 departed this life peacefully and entered Heaven’s gates May 27, 2024. Dorothy’s life can best be encapsulated by the following words, faith, family, flowers, and food. In her 85 years here with us she experienced an abundance of each. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Coleman and Norma Riddlesperger of Jasper, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Juanita West, Frances Cox, Betty Sue Chambers, Faye Abner, and her parent’s infant son, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Clements, who adored her beauty, grace, and ability to be the glue to hold the family together while taking care of each and every family member. Her selflessness was immeasurable. Dorothy and Frank share five wonderful children who she told the world about with every breath. Mike (CheeChee) Clements, Sharon (Tony) Anderson, Randy (Donna) Clements, Shawn (Denise) Clements, Kerry (Nora) Clements. Dorothy was blessed with 14 grandchildren, Leigh (Jason) Brooks, Jennifer (Dennis) Thomas, Kim (Brad) Cheyne, Karen Clements, Jennifer (Jon) Hayes, Tara (Eric) Thompson, Brandon (Meghan) Clements, Brett (Kelsie) Clements, Briana (Andy) Underwood, Misty (Al) Hagl, Alecia (Andrew) Basenberg, Michael McCoy, Isabella Clements, and Ivana Clements. Her blessings grew with 20 great grandchildren, Emiley (Mikey) Waid, Justin Brooks, Hadyn (Ruka) Valenta, Logan Brooks, Amber Anderson, Carsyn Gurley, Allyson Kate Hayes, Jon Michael Hayes, Madison Eaton, Olivia Eaton, Maycie Eaton, Ainsley Thompson, Abbie Clements, Bailey Clements, Miley Clements, Arden Clements, McCoy Clements, Briley Ann Underwood, Skylar Sloan, and Gracelyn Hagl. She was looking forward to meeting the newest great grandchild who will make her appearance in July, Addie Rae Underwood. Dorothy joined her Heavenly Father while rejoicing in the thoughts of knowing she would be adding a fifth generation to her “crew” while awaiting the arrival of her first great, great grandchild, Catie Mae Waid, who will be her namesake. She is also survived by her two siblings, Terry (Diane) Riddlesperger and Sally (Bill) Waterhouse, and a host of nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a faithful member of New Temple Baptist Church. At Dororthy’s requests, in lieu of flowers donations be made to the New Temple Building Fund so that the next generation may be reached as her community grows. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home chapel. Rev. J.J. Creel will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm.
