Linda Sue Burley

Linda Sue Burley, 70, of Pleasant Grove, Alabama passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023. She died peacefully at home with her partner, Randy King, by her side. Linda is survived by her partner, Randy King; children Karen Smith, Jamie (Ray) Osborn, Melanie (Danny) Morris and James “Buddy” (Ashley) Smith, Jr.; stepson, Dewey King; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Randall Teer; Lisa (Kevin) Nehring and Suzanne Mann; and many nephews, nieces, and friends. Linda was predeceased by her father, James “Wallace” Teer, mother, Helen Ann Boatman and siblings Michael Teer and Janice McDonald. Linda was known for the beautiful cakes and delicious food she made as the cake decorator and deli manager at Piggly Wiggly in Pleasant Grove, where she worked many years prior to her retirement. Her cakes and food were featured at many celebrations within the community including birthdays, weddings, and special events. Linda was a kind person who would give anyone the shirt off her back, and the world could certainly benefit from more kindness. So, think of Linda throughout the coming days and smile at someone; hug someone; hold the door open for someone; forgive someone; use social media for good; make a donation to your favorite charity; find a random “GoFundMe” account and donate; send cards to the local senior home; donate blood; pay for the person’s bill in line behind you, wherever you may be -- grocery store, movie theater, coffeeshop, or fast-food restaurant; volunteer at a place of your choice; or, create your own random act of kindness in Linda’s memory keeping in mind, “kindness is a kind of magic, in return we get love which is eternal.”
